Unit 58 Auxiliary

Welcome to American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 58. We currently have 200 Senior and 20 Junior members. The Unit is also a proud member of the 16th District.
As a Unit we support the Department of Texas and National programs, as well as our commitment to the local community.
Members participate in the annual “Massing of the Colors”, Veterans Day parade, and over Memorial Day we help with the refreshments for the Boy/Girl Scouts at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
Once a year the auxiliary donates $250 to “Camp Courageous” to help send a cancer stricken child to summer camp.
The Unit makes monetary donations to Operation Santa Claus, Lee Moor” Children’s Home, Rescue Mission, Salvation Army,  Operation Noel and some other local charities.
Some members volunteer at the local VA Outpatient Clinic and we serve refreshments every other month at the same.
We support the Department of Texas by forwarding our Christmas Assessment, our donation to the Big Spring gift shop. We also send money to the Scholarship fund.
Some of our members are past 16th District officers, 4th Division presidents and also hold office on the Department level.
Our funds are raised through monthly bake sales, annual rummage sale, picture taking on special holidays, and an occasional dinner.  We help the post by serving breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.
The auxiliary has a good working relationship with the Post and its Commander.

Trudy Ketcherside
President
